Cedar Ave, Yuma CO: backyard as folk art installation complete w/pick-up tree house |
As usual, the process started with a combination of no idea and too many ideas of what to blog about. Reading the Tuesday guidelines and advisory ("Please be sure any posts you share on SOL Tuesdays truly fit the mission of the Slice of Life Community") reminded me how little my own situation fits the Two Writing Teachers' mission. Writing about my Guerrilla Educationist concept or about #DigCiz would address that somewhat and could segue into other areas, other blogs.
In the end, however, my day devolved into trying to keep apartment and myself as cool as possible. No A/C. Fans, closing windows on the sunny side, drawing the curtains and not expending any more energy than necessary. My mind was on staying cool and quiet, not education or missions, but I did answer a few emails and made my 750Words for the day.
Now after 9 pm, it's finally starting to cool off. I may walk again after posting, enough to make my mile. Guerrilla education and digital citizenship will have to wait for another day.
Two Writing Teachers community bloggers share and comment on weekly slice of life posts every Tuesday. Writing habits and reasons vary but not the intent to slice weekly until March. If we miss a deadline or just skip a Tuesday, there will be another the next week and each thereafter. No Tuesday is ever too late to start anew. Read this week's slices here.
It has been a terribly hot day! I ended up taking a cold shower this afternoon.
ReplyDeleteJust reading posts, I gather the reaction -- hot, tired and writing short posts -- was widespread. I'm still feeling the effect from yesterday. Today's temperatures are supposed to be higher.
DeleteWhile you do your best to stay "cool & quiet," sounds to me like your mind is steadily revving!
ReplyDeleteoh, yes, like hamster on a wheel. Processing will go better when it slows down
Deletecool showers...several times a day....very light clothing.....lots of iced tea......and be careful!
ReplyDeleteyes but easy on the caffeine -- both green and jasmine make refreshing ice teas. It's been cooler the past few days but will be hot again later this week. I stocked electrolytes and picked up another fan
Deletebut with less caffeine --- so make that green tea
