#sol17 Day 6: Monday, what am I doing today?

I made my absent minded old lady, anti-procrastination list and have been working through it but still have no sense of Monday-ness or what I'm doing today. Or maybe I have a case of "mondayness", which the Urban Dictionary defines as "when everything seems to be going wrong, like on a Monday!"

Mondays are the start of a work week for most. They are different for me. I'm retired -- active to be sure but on my own schedule. There isn't the same demarcation of work week and weekend. Sometime between Sunday afternoon and very, very early Monday morning, I post a Google calendar screenshot for "this week at the Manor." That's my Monday coming signal, such as it is, for the week to start, just as sending a printable pdf of the monthly calendar to the Manor office cues up the new month.

Walking was on my list but it's been too windy to walk and breathe. Changes in barometric pressure take me down with them. That leaves the rest of the list to work through while listening to my other "mondayness" find, 90 minutes of Mondayness by Captain Haddock on Mixcloud, tagged #eclecticmix and described as a "genre bender." PS there wasn't much to chose from in the way of "mondayness" images. The only one that I could find and that I'm using is for a Trinidad Carnival mas band by that name.

This blog post is for the 2017 Slice of Life challenge, hosted by Two Writing Teachers. We write all through March, every day.

  1. One of my favorite lines from the movie "Office Space" is when one employee says to another "Sounds like a case of the Mondays," and the recipient gets REALLY annoyed. No one on a Monday wants to be reminded that it's only Monday!

    1. Ha! I did not think it would feel like Monday meh, maybe because I was buoyed up about posting earlier the day before.

  2. Also retired, I am always taken aback when someone tells me to "have a nice weekend". I have to stop and try to figure out what day it is.

    1. The only reason I can usually tell is because of I a "this week at the Manor" post Sunday night or early Monday. The rest of the week, I'm on my own...
