I should have a plan, thought I did. Now, other than writing and diving into as many other blogs as possible, I don't and no idea where I'm heading. Also exhilarating.
My original sense of working around places now and then as a flexible framework might still work. One post I visited today described slices as memories. Scenes from our memories includes remembered places, associations with them. "Here" can be physical location, virtual space or remembered place.
Mountainair, New Mexico, is the most recent past "here." As shown on the blog sidebar, my Facebook page for the place is still up and in the now, lightly maintained and sharing my eponymous Twitter stream with Yuma.
Physical locations can have digital representation. Will the now and then heres construct hold up? I don't know yet. There are still whys and outcomes to consider. Enough for now.
First of all, what beautiful photos! I am so impressed by your SOL17 plan! I just tell stories about the crazy things that happen to me--I can't wait to see where you take this in the next few weeks--well done, you!
ReplyDeletehahaha...crazy stories, there will be lot of those too. going places, no telling where you'll end up (sometimes not even how you got there). I'm trying this out in hopes of (but not necessarilyy expecting) more organization than usual...AA for blocked bloggers, one day at a time

ReplyDeleteAlthough I try to stay current on education trends, I'm retired so that makes another shift in perspective. Connecting places and perspectives would make an interest an interesting side trip -- thanks for the idea
DeleteSense of place is so interconnected with memory, and can inspire surprisingly passionate writing, I believe. I still remember some place-based pieces I wrote in a college course decades ago. Good luck with you slicing and considering all your "heres."
